Bethany Bible Church and Covenant Presbyterian Church, for the first time are presenting a joint concert at Covenant Presbyterian Church, 2101 Kanuga Road, Hendersonville, NC 28739, on Friday, June 19 at 6:30 p.m.  Bethany Bible Church is holding its annual music camp for young people, and the ending date of that project has coincided with the date that we are so delighted at Covenant Presbyterian, to have a traveling youth choir from New Presbyterian Church in Fort Lauderdale with us.  The Conductor of the New Presbyterian group is Matthew McMurrin, the son of Roger McMurrin and for many years his co-worker in the McMurrins’ music ministry in Kiev, Ukraine.  Roger McMurrin was for many years the Music Director at Coral Ridge Presbyterian Church in Fort Lauderdale, and after that career he moved to Ukraine with his family, where he started Music Mission Kiev.

Matthew McMurrin has accepted the Director of Music position at New Presbyterian Church which is a successor church to the larger Coral Ridge Presbyterian Church in Fort Lauderdale.  For the first time he is bringing his youth choir on a short tour.  They are singing in Chattanooga and at Covenant Presbyterian Church and at Montreat and finally in Augusta Georgia on their way back to Florida.

Greg Stiekes, Pastor of Bethany Bible Church and director of the Music Camp, has worked out arrangements with Matthew McMurrin for his young musicians at Bethany Bible Church to join the visiting choir as it presents the choral music.  This provides a special opportunity for the local young people to sing under the leadership of Matthew McMurrin.  We think the evening will be lots of fun for the young people to participate as they present some very interesting choral music.  Admission is free and we will have a reception afterwards with plenty of pizza and other kid friendly food to welcome our guests.
